Being willing to sort through some “trash” before finding a treasure is a must. However, your treasure will likely cost only a fraction of its original price.
The nicer thrift shops (often called resale shops or consignment stores) have already sorted through a lot of the trash for you. They sell high-quality goods, so you generally won’t find cracked mugs, incomplete puzzles, or scratched furniture. The trade-off is that you’ll likely pay more for your finds. Of course, you’ll still end up paying much less than the original price.
