Maybe you’re thinking about painting a few rooms inside your Herndon home. Perhaps it’s time for a change, such as adding a more vibrant color or neutral shade. It may be that your walls need a refresh or a bit of updating. Regardless of why you want to paint the interior of your home, at MasterWorks Painters we have a few guidelines to share that you should consider following. Knowing how often you should paint the rooms in your home will give you a good idea of where to start. While we’ve already discussed painting hallways and kitchens in the last blog article, let’s continue by talking about painting bathrooms and bedrooms.

How Often Should You Repaint the Interior of Your Home? (Part 2)

Bathrooms

The walls of a bathroom undergo quite a bit of damage and distress over the years. Humidity from taking showers can cause bubbling or peeling paint. Hair products and makeup can leave a sticky, messy residue on your bathroom walls. Due to all the activity that does take place in your powder room, we recommend repainting this space every three to four years. If it’s seen more damage than usual, you may need to repaint it sooner.

Bedrooms

While bedrooms don’t necessarily see the same type of activity as bathrooms, they do sustain other types of damage such as knicks, cracks, and dents. If you have younger children, you may need to update it more often, since their tastes and styles change as they grow. With preschool children, often they like to get creative by painting or drawing on the walls. While they may enjoy it, we know you definitely don’t. Adult’s bedrooms usually don’t need to be painted unless you are making changes as well.
