• Painting: A mixture of fresh white paint and vibrant color are equally at home in a cottage kitchen.  White paint helps create the airy, look of a cottage kitchen. You could also achieve a splash of color through furniture, textiles or appliances, which results in a vintage, casual feel that lifts spirits. Bright yellows and reds present a vintage feel and act as great accent colors.
• Fixtures:  A farmhouse sink will of course be a fitting choice for your kitchen. Equally good are apron-front sinks, trough sinks and freestanding porcelain sink. Choose a faucet that matches the sink. An antique wall-mount or high-arch faucet goes well with a farmhouse-style sink. Look for a polished nickel, chrome or hand-rubbed bronze finish, which can also be used for the stove, refrigerator and hanging lights.
